Namhla nje usapho lwe Africa lofa yindlala,
namhlanje isizw’ esimnyama sovukelana. Ngoba kaloku lanyil’ithole lemaz’ewasakazi. Kaloku le yimaz’emabele mathandathu. Nguwaloty’owalotyolwa ngegazi lemidaka yomgquba neentokaz’ ezibhinqa ngenyaniso nentshisakalo yobuntu bendl’entsundu kwizizwe zehlabathi Uwalotywa yimaz’emnyam’enebal’elimhlophe kabawo. Yimaz’ebifudul’isaziwa ngokohlisa, int’etsho ngomfaneleko yasuka yathinjwa ngabeentlanga ooqhina ka qhonono namaqotha-qikili arhashalala. Sililela isizukulwana esilixhoba lombuso wentando yabantu. We are crying for the generation that is not allowed to fight for their rights. Thanks to Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula, the Minister of Defence for the refusal to the killing that was requested to take place in our universities. The generation that is not supported by their parents. We are weeping for the stigmatised liberation movement of this generation that get 0% support from the society hence it has managed to unite black students. Today the foundation of the Union Building is shaking, just by the blow of our breath. Kutheni Mzantsi Afrika.


Lilizwe lethu eli, we were given even freedom, but today the youth sees no leaders. In 1976 were chanting about the leaders of their days besithi Sobukwe Sikhokele, nank’u Mandela. They knew that freedom was about to arrive, they had all the support from the African Nation. Kodwa iimveku zanamhlanje ziqamela nganqindana-nye kwiintolongo zezaphuli-mthetho zeli lizwe. Aba ngabantwana beempula zika lujaca ezatshata nepeki zikhulis’uqoqosho lweli lizwe. Namhlanje ulutsha lufun’isity’emnyameni. Kubi ndiva loontsholo ndigugutha kumathambeka namagoph’aseNciba umlisela nomthinjan’ukhwaz’uSolomon Mahlang’owaxhonywa ngurhulumente wobandlululo ngenxa yenkululeko yesizw’esimnyama.   1. The poem is writen in IsiXhosa and some parts in English. the parts that is in English may give the message by itself even if you can't read the whole poem. The use of isiXhosa assists to narrate the poem into a number of poetic devices that includes colours (the colour of the cow-iwasakazi), (ubisi-milk) milksymbolizes wealth. Cow is used to give the image of South Africa. It helped me to show you how the country itself has been changing just the way the cow get older and older until its death. The essence of this poem is to show how the youth shifted from sharpville to Marikana massacre and the way that the leaders have lost the trust of the youth in an extent that throught #FeesMustFall movement students praise the leaders who died long ago. that should mean something especially if we all agree that there are people who fight for social justice. In the poem, the role played by chapter 9 institutions to protect the interst of the poor people (FeesMustFall movement and Marikana workers) although the law is fixed in the interest of an unknown (ingalo yomthetho enoboyo) we say its a feathered arm of the law to imply that the law does not completely serve the interest of the poor. If I have refered to the snake as the foreign and three-headed snake then you should explain it for yourself. I have mentioned the cry from the families of the murdered mine workers from Marikana, the cry by the leader of AMCU Mr Joseph Mathunjwa and the Cry from biggest Universities in South Africa for the silencing of black kids and brutality that is authorised by South Africa's democratic government that I refered to as the most cruel state because of its structure and nature that was made by the constitution. Still I mentioned that this country is regarded as the best in the world. But being recorgnised as the best by the world does not mean it serves its people that best. But the withdrawal from the International Criminal Court may decreace its status but the interest of this poem is not ICC but what may happen if by any chance we would like to seak for help. The state capture and marikana are being used in this poem not because we hate someone involved but because they are exactly complecations that may be the result of the cow that has been yorked by the foreigners who have stolen it and sold it to us. (ston-means colonialisation)and (yorking-means the use of capitalism). The use of politicians is not deferent to the use of those who were fighting during the apartheid. participation of student organisations is mentioned as it is.
